AbeyLabs ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Kuliya mobile application (the "App" or "Service") — a peer-to-peer rental marketplace operating in Sri Lanka. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

KYC data is stored securely and used solely for identity verification within the platform.
Why we use your location: Kuliya requests access to your device's precise and approximate location (Fine Location and Coarse Location) to display rental items available near you on the map — for example, showing all bikes, tools, or cameras listed within a 5 km radius of your current position — and to allow item owners to set an accurate pickup location for their listings. Location is only accessed while you are actively using the App. We do not track your location in the background.

Kuliya does not use your personal data to track you across third-party apps and websites for advertising purposes, and we do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers.
Some third-party SDKs integrated into the App (such as Firebase for crash analytics and performance monitoring) may collect aggregated, anonymised usage data. This data is used solely for improving the App's stability and performance and is not linked to your identity for advertising purposes.
If a future version of the App introduces any form of cross-app tracking, we will request your explicit permission through Apple's AppTrackingTransparency (ATT) framework before collecting any such data, in compliance with Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.2(i).
Kuliya is a user-generated content (UGC) platform. Users can post listings, upload photos, and communicate via the in-app chat. By using the App, you agree to our Terms of Use and End User Licence Agreement (EULA), which state that there is zero tolerance for objectionable, abusive, illegal, or harmful content.
By creating an account, you agree that AbeyLabs may remove any content and terminate any account that violates these standards, without prior notice.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service:
Other users only see your public profile (Name, Avatar) and items you have listed. Phone numbers are only shared with confirmed rental parties to facilitate item handover.
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES at rest) and secure cloud infrastructure (Appwrite) to protect your personal information and sensitive verification documents. However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure.
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations.
Deleting Your Account: You can delete your account at any time from App Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing us at legal@abeylabs.dev. Upon verified request, we will permanently delete your profile, listings, and personal data, except where retention is required by applicable law (e.g., transaction records required for financial compliance).
Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from minors. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy here and updating the "Last Updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
